A wife allegedly chopped her husband in half and stuffed both pieces into a suitcase – with the help of her lover, who is also her nephew. The body of Naushad Ahmed, 38, was discovered on Sunday morning by a farmer in a field in Deoria, India.
The victim, who had just returned from Dubai ten days earlier, was found dumped in a field after Jitendra Giri noticed a strange shopping trolley containing a suitcase. He immediately contacted police and the area was cordoned off. Forensics and sniffer dogs were dispatched to the scene.
Police spokesperson Arvind Verma said: “When the bag was opened, police found a male torso wrapped inside. The lower half of the body had been stuffed into a sack. A foreign SIM card, photocopied documents, and a travel barcode bearing an airport tag helped confirm the deceased’s identity as Nuashad Ahmed.”
Officers were directed to Naushad’s home, where another suitcase stained with blood was found. It is believed the accused tried to stuff the body in a suitcase before resorting to the trolly bag. Naushad’s wife, Raziya, was taken into custody, where she confessed to killing her husband.
“Under sustained interrogation, she confessed to the murder, revealling that she and her lover – her nephew by relation – killed Naushad as he was becoming an obstacle in their illicit relationship”, Verma added.
Authorities said the suspect and her lover’s relationship had resumed after Naushad returned to Dubai. His heartbroken father, Mannu, has demanded the harshesht punishment for Raziya.
Police confirmed the motivation behind the murder was driven by his wife’s affair. “The accused woman has confessed, and multiple police teams, including the district SOG, have been deployed to arrest her absconding lover.” Cops are searching for the wife’s lover.
The horrific murder comes after Crystal Beale, from Brisbane, Australia, was found dead in the Brisbane River in the city suburb of Yeronga at 5:40am on February 22. Just hours before, Crystal was at dinner with her former partner and son in the south of Brisbane. The trio stayed together until around 9:30pm when Crystal got out of a car in Brisbane’s West End.
In CCTV footage Crystal, 49, can be seen in beige sandals and a white dress at a restaurant. Police believe it is the last sign of Crystal on the night she was found dead.
“We’ve reviewed probably 1000 hours of CCTV on that night,” said Detective Acting Inspector Rod Watts, according to News.com.au.
“There are some other CCTV captures of her around Annerley where she got out of the vehicle, but from there, into West End… we are yet to piece together what’s actually happened.”
Inspector Watts said injuries reviewed in post-mortem indicated the death is “suspicious”. Her sandal and “other personal belongings” were discovered in a park close to the area.
