Brad Arnold, the frontman of the Grammy-nominated band 3 Doors Down, passed away at the age of 47 on Saturday following a battle with Stage 4 kidney cancer. The band confirmed his peaceful passing in his sleep, surrounded by loved ones.

Formed in Mississippi in 1995, 3 Doors Down gained recognition with their hit song “Kryptonite,” which earned them a Grammy nomination. The band’s debut album, “The Better Life,” sold over six million copies, and they received another Grammy nod in 2003 for the track “When I’m Gone.”

Described as redefining mainstream rock music, 3 Doors Down blended post-grunge elements with emotionally resonant lyrics that connected with audiences. Their discography includes six albums, with their latest release, “Us and the Night,” hitting the shelves in 2016 featuring popular singles like “Loser,” “Duck and Run,” and “Be Like That.”

Reflecting on his career in the music industry during the promotion of their fifth album, “Time of My Life,” Arnold acknowledged the growth and improvement that comes with years of experience. The band also performed at the inauguration concert for former U.S. President Donald Trump in 2017.

Last May, Arnold disclosed his battle with Stage 4 kidney cancer, which had spread to his lungs, leading to the cancellation of the band’s summer tour. The band paid tribute to Arnold’s enduring impact on music and the lasting connections he created through his performances.
