“Saskatoon Ironworker’s Massive Rock Concert Memorabilia Collection”

Must read

Roque Andres, Jr., a journeyman ironworker from Saskatoon, has a passion for collecting mementos from live rock concerts. When not at work or playing in a metal band, he is adding to his vast collection of concert souvenirs. His house is adorned with gig posters, set lists, guitar picks, drum sticks, signed gig posters, and photos from various rock shows.

Andres estimates he has around 400 to 500 gig posters, 200 set lists, 300 to 400 guitar picks, and 100 drum sticks, with about 1,000 items signed by performers. His collection includes memorabilia from both global stars and local acts. Notably, he possesses rare vinyl albums signed by Black Sabbath members and a unique painting gifted by Bif Naked.

His love for live music started with an Alice Cooper concert in the ’80s, which inspired him to collect set lists and items from performances. Andres has acquired guitar picks from renowned artists like James Hetfield and drum sticks from bands such as Iron Maiden. His unique approach to collecting involves catching guitar picks mid-air and seeking autographs from musicians.

With over 1,200 rock concerts attended, including shows by Alice Cooper, Bif Naked, Iron Maiden, and others, Andres’s collection continues to grow. He values the memories associated with each item and aims to expand his display by potentially moving to a larger house to accommodate his extensive collection.
