“Actor Hudson Williams Ventures into Writing World”

Must read

Hudson Williams, a 24-year-old actor from Vancouver, has embarked on a new venture into writing following his rapid ascent to stardom. He shot to fame last year with his role as hockey star Shane Hollander in the hit series “Heated Rivalry,” which has become the most successful show on the streaming platform Crave Original. The show even caught the attention of Prime Minister Mark Carney, who met Williams and the director at the Prime Time 2026 gala in January.

In a recent interview with Wonderland magazine, Williams disclosed to his co-star Sophie Nélisse that he is currently working on a book while finding solace in writing and journaling. He mentioned having two journals, one of which is a semi-autobiographical manuscript blurring the lines between fiction and reality, capturing a significant period in his life.

Williams attributes his passion for journaling to the influence of renowned American writer Joan Didion, known for works like “The Year of Magical Thinking” and “Play It As It Lays.” He shared his admiration for Didion’s practice of journaling to preserve her thoughts and emotions, drawing inspiration from her approach.

Beyond Didion’s works, Williams also mentioned his interest in the literary genre known as “hot girl reads,” particularly enjoying novels like “Sex and Rage” by Eve Babitz. Prior to his rise in fame with “Heated Rivalry,” Williams frequently shared his reading preferences online, ranging from Anne de Marcken’s novel “It Lasts Forever and Then It’s Over” to DC Comics’ “Nightwing.”

During the interview, Williams expressed that he finds a deep connection to reading and writing in the comfort of his home in Vancouver, where he immerses himself in books and movies to fuel his creativity. While there is no official announcement of a book deal for his debut novel yet, literary agent Samantha Haywood anticipates a high demand for Williams’s semi-autobiographical work, given his global recognition from “Heated Rivalry.” Publishers are expected to compete vigorously for the rights to publish his novel, especially if it leans towards a spicy romance genre.

Despite efforts to reach out to Williams and his team for comments, CBC Books is yet to receive a response regarding his writing endeavors.
