Cardi B is serious about her Canadian fans, especially those in Hamilton. Amid her ongoing Little Miss Drama Tour across North America, the Grammy Award-winning rapper expressed concern that while most tour dates are selling out, the Hamilton show on March 31 is lagging behind.
In a now-deleted Instagram story post circulating on social media, Cardi B playfully warned her fans in Hamilton not to break her streak of sold-out shows. She emphasized that most tour dates are nearly sold out, with the Hamilton show at TD Coliseum only reaching about 80% ticket sales in comparison.
Ticketmaster maps viewed by CBC News indicate that there are still numerous tickets available for the Hamilton date, while only a few scattered seats remain for the Toronto show scheduled the day before. Similarly, shows in Kansas City, Chicago, and Newark still have a limited number of seats available.
Efforts to verify the ticket sales percentages with Ticketmaster are pending. Currently, Hamilton tickets are available for purchase starting at $118, while Toronto tickets are priced higher, with some resale options listed as low as $230.
During previous tour stops, Cardi B achieved significant success, selling out venues such as the Kia Forum in Los Angeles for two consecutive nights. She also warned fans in Vancouver not to break her sold-out streak, a message that was heeded as she sold out her show at Rogers Arena.
Despite Cardi B’s appeal to Hamilton fans, Mayor Andrea Horwath reassured that the city remains a music-loving community. Local artist Leon (Eklipz) Robinson echoed this sentiment, attributing the slower ticket sales to economic factors like rising costs of living.
Robinson believes Cardi B’s callout may actually boost ticket sales, even though he noted a lack of advertising for the concert locally. With upcoming tour stops in Chicago and New York City, Cardi B’s journey continues before her anticipated performances in Toronto and Hamilton later in the month.
