“Tate McRae Shines at 2026 Juno Awards Gala”

At the Juno Awards gala, Justin Bieber, despite being one of the most nominated artists with six nods, did not win any awards. Instead, Tate McRae emerged as the big winner, taking home four Junos, including album of the year, artist of the year, single of the year, and pop album of the year.

The 2026 Juno Awards Gala, co-hosted by CBC Music’s Damhnait Doyle and Odario Williams, saw the presentation of 47 awards, featuring historic wins and new winners. Notably, Toronto R&B singer Daniel Caesar kicked off the night by winning the songwriter of the year award.

Aysanabee also had a memorable night, winning for alternative album of the year and contemporary Indigenous artist of the year. During his acceptance speech, he acknowledged his all-female team and humorously mentioned his future plans regarding awards.

Billy Talent was honored with the Humanitarian Award for their charitable work over the past 25 years. The band’s drummer, Aaron Solowoniuk, who has multiple sclerosis, was recognized for his resilience and contributions to charity.

The Beaches celebrated their win for rock album of the year, expressing their gratitude for the Canadian music scene. Sadboi, a Toronto artist, won the rap album/EP of the year and shared her pride in being recognized in her home country.

Several artists, including Kazdoura, Aaron Paris, and Debby Friday, won their first Juno Awards in various categories. The diversity of winners showcased the talent and range of Canadian music artists.

Additionally, filmmaker Karena Evans won the music video of the year award, recognizing her contribution to the music industry with impactful visuals. The night also saw Saukrates, Maestro Fresh Wes, and others win their first Junos after years of nominations.
