Dan Levy Emotionally Reflects on “Schitt’s Creek” Memories

Must read

Dan Levy found it difficult to express his emotions as he revisited the Ontario town where the popular TV series “Schitt’s Creek” was filmed after its conclusion. Levy, who co-created the show, returned to Goodwood, Ontario, as part of an extended interview with CBS’s “Sunday Morning.” During the visit, he reminisced about the memories associated with the filming location, including the boutique shop Rose Apothecary that his character David operated in Season 3.

Levy, visibly emotional, removed his trademark black glasses to wipe away tears as he reflected on his time in the community. He mentioned the significance of the location and the memories shared with his co-star and friend, Catherine O’Hara, who passed away in January at the age of 71.

O’Hara, a revered Canadian comedic actress known for her roles in iconic films and shows like “Home Alone,” “Beetlejuice,” and “Schitt’s Creek,” where she portrayed Moira Rose, passed away due to a blood clot in her lung. Levy expressed deep sorrow over her sudden demise, highlighting O’Hara’s remarkable talent and the impact she had on fans and the entertainment industry.

Reflecting on the possibility of a “Schitt’s Creek” sequel, Levy indicated that it was not something he could consider at the moment, given O’Hara’s passing. He shared that while he had contemplated a reboot previously, his focus now was on cherishing the memories of the show and the iconic moments created by O’Hara’s character.

In the interview, Levy also praised O’Hara’s professionalism and humor on set, recalling memorable scenes they shared on “Schitt’s Creek.” He acknowledged her influence on the show and how her presence elevated the performances of the entire cast.

Despite the immense success of “Schitt’s Creek,” which garnered numerous awards, Levy remains grounded about his new Netflix series, “Big Mistakes,” set to premiere on April 9. He emphasized the importance of focusing on personal fulfillment rather than external comparisons, acknowledging that following up on the success of “Schitt’s Creek” was a challenging task.

As Levy revisited the community that served as the backdrop for “Schitt’s Creek,” he paid tribute to O’Hara’s legacy and the indelible mark she left on the entertainment world.
