Vancouver Canucks’ forward, Brock Boeser, was absent from the team’s recent matchup against the Washington Capitals in D.C. on Sunday due to personal matters. The announcement of Boeser’s absence was made by Canucks’ general manager, Patrik Allvin, through the team’s social media platforms without specifying a return date. In his place, Jonathan Lekkerimaki was included in the lineup for the game against the Capitals.
Boeser, who has netted three goals in five games for Vancouver this season, notably secured a victory over Chicago with a shootout goal in their last game. The 28-year-old right-winger avoided entering free agency in July by renewing his contract with the Canucks for a substantial seven-year deal worth $50.75 million USD.
Originally selected as the 23rd overall pick by Vancouver in the 2015 draft, Boeser has exclusively represented the Canucks throughout his entire NHL career, participating in all 559 regular-season games and accumulating an impressive record of 207 goals and 237 assists.
