Canadians have received multiple nominations for the Actor Awards, which celebrate outstanding performances in Hollywood films and television/streaming shows. The nominations were revealed by actors Connor Storrie from “Heated Rivalry” and Janelle James from “Abbott Elementary.”

Each principal cast member of “One Battle After Another” has been recognized in individual acting categories. Notably, Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothée Chalamet, Michael B. Jordan, Ethan Hawke, and Jesse Plemons are all up for best actor in leading roles for different films.

Moreover, supporting roles in “One Battle After Another” have not gone unrecognized, with Teyana Taylor, Benicio del Toro, and Sean Penn receiving nominations. This film’s success marks a historic occasion, as no movie has previously garnered more than five nominations in the 31-year history of the SAG Awards.

In the television and streaming series categories, “The Studio” stands out with five nominations, maintaining its track record of accolades after winning numerous Primetime Emmys for a comedy series last year. The show has nominations for lead actor Ike Barinholtz and lead actress Kathryn Hahn.

“The White Lotus” secured the most nominations in the drama category, with four nods, including outstanding ensemble. It faces tough competition from shows like “The Diplomat,” “Landman,” “The Pitt,” and “Severance.”
