Several charitable organizations have decided to end their connections with Sarah Ferguson, the former spouse of Prince Andrew, following the emergence of an email she allegedly wrote to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, referring to him as a “supreme friend.” Julia’s House, a children’s hospice, stated that the disclosed correspondence led to the decision that it was unsuitable for Ferguson, also known as the Duchess of York, to continue as a patron. The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation and Prevent Breast Cancer also joined in cutting ties with Ferguson in light of the recent revelations. Ferguson’s spokesperson explained that she sent the email under legal advice after Epstein threatened legal action for associating him with sexual abuse in a media interview. The email in question related to a 2011 interview where Ferguson expressed regret for accepting funds from Epstein and vowed to sever all ties with him. The authenticity of the email reported by The Sun newspaper has not been independently verified by the Associated Press. Prince Andrew, Ferguson’s former husband and the younger brother of King Charles, relinquished all royal duties after a controversial BBC interview in 2019 regarding his connections to Epstein. Peter Mandelson, the former British ambassador to the U.S., was also dismissed from his position after additional communications with Epstein came to light. Epstein’s death in 2019 was officially deemed a suicide, sparking various conspiracy theories due to his associations with prominent figures like Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and Bill Gates. Epstein’s legal history includes a 2008 plea deal in Florida for soliciting prostitution and federal charges of child trafficking in New York shortly before his death.
