Cloey Uddenberg secured the pivotal goal in the 34th minute, propelling AFC Toronto to a 2-1 victory over Calgary Wild FC in the Northern Super League clash on Saturday. Uddenberg’s strike gave Toronto (15-6-3) a 2-0 lead before Jorian Baucom narrowed the gap for Calgary (7-14-2) just before halftime. Kaylee Hunter also notched a goal for Toronto in the 19th minute.
Toronto, currently enjoying a six-game unbeaten streak (4-0-2), has not suffered a defeat since August 17, when they fell 1-0 to Vancouver. In contrast, Calgary has only secured one victory in their last seven matches, with their last win dated back to August 16 against Halifax.
Next up, Toronto is set to face Montreal at home on Sunday, October 19, while Calgary will host Halifax the following Saturday.
The inaugural Final of the league’s season will see the presentation of the Diana B. Matheson Cup on November 15 at Toronto’s BMO Field, named in honor of the Northern Super League co-founder.
