Driver Crashes into Home and Causes Power Outage

Must read

London police reported that a male driver was hospitalized on Sunday morning after colliding with a traffic light, a hydro pole, and ultimately the front of a residence on Adelaide Street south. The driver was subsequently charged with impaired driving. The incident led to a power outage in the vicinity of Hamilton Road, with sections of Adelaide Street being shut down.

Emergency crews spent a significant portion of the day fixing the live wires that were hanging over the road and sidewalk due to the snapped hydro line. Some residents were advised to stay indoors while the repairs were in progress. The street remained closed for several hours as authorities evaluated the structural soundness of the affected residence and London Hydro ensured the area was safe.

A photograph showed substantial damage to the home on Adelaide Street caused by the vehicle’s impact, though the reason for the crash remains unknown.
