Police in Ottawa reported that a man died following a stabbing incident on St. Laurent Boulevard. Authorities responded to a bus stop in front of an apartment building at 500 St. Laurent Blvd. in the early morning hours, discovering an adult male with severe injuries consistent with stab wounds. The victim, identified as 55-year-old Justin James Weir, was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after.
The scene remained active with multiple police vehicles and cordoned off areas throughout the day. The Ottawa Police Service’s homicide unit has taken over the investigation, with no suspects currently in custody. Authorities urge anyone who may have been in the vicinity of St. Laurent Boulevard, Montreal Road, or Brittany Drive during the late hours of Wednesday and early hours of Thursday to review their surveillance footage for potential leads.
