Moise Bombito Faces Setback with Fractured Tibia

Must read

Canadian defender Moise Bombito, a key player for OGC Nice, has suffered a fractured left tibia during a recent match against Monaco in the French Ligue 1. This injury setback comes after Bombito had just returned to action following a four-month absence due to wrist surgery and a tibia stress fracture. The incident occurred in the 50th minute when Bombito fell awkwardly while trying to defend against a Monaco forward. Unfortunately, he had to be carried off the pitch on a stretcher.

In a show of support, the Canadian men’s team sent out a message of solidarity to Bombito. Due to his injury, Bombito will be replaced by Kamal Miller from the Portland Timbers for the upcoming international friendlies against Australia and Colombia. Despite this setback, Canada is gearing up to face Australia in Montreal and Colombia in New Jersey.

Canada coach Jesse Marsch expressed his excitement about having Bombito back in the team, highlighting his importance and potential contributions. Bombito, along with Derek Cornelius, has been a crucial part of Canada’s defense. Marsch emphasized the need to handle Bombito’s return cautiously to prevent any further injuries.

With a string of absences due to injury, including captain Alphonso Davies, Canada’s national team is facing challenges leading up to their upcoming fixtures. However, the team remains focused on maintaining their momentum and performance on the international stage.
