“Oilers Acquire Goaltender Connor Ingram from Utah”

Must read

The Edmonton Oilers have completed a trade with the Utah Mammoth, acquiring goaltender Connor Ingram in exchange for future considerations. Ingram, 27 years old, recently cleared waivers and is set to join the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors.

Utah will retain $800,000 of Ingram’s $1.95-million average annual salary. Oilers’ general manager Stan Bowman expressed that this acquisition provides valuable depth for the team, ensuring they have a skilled goaltender within the organization in case of injuries or performance challenges.

Ingram, who faced personal challenges, including entering the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program after his mother’s passing and dealing with mental health issues, has shown resilience and dedication to the sport. He previously won the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy in 2024 with the Arizona Coyotes for his perseverance and commitment to hockey.

Having posted a 9-8-4 record with Utah last season, Ingram is seen as a talented player who can excel when in top form. The Oilers aim to support him in regaining his peak performance level as he commences a new chapter with the team in Bakersfield.

Joining the Oilers’ goaltending roster alongside Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard, Ingram’s addition brings depth and potential competition to the mix. With all three goalies in the last year of their contracts, the Oilers will assess their goaltending strategy over the upcoming months to determine the best course of action for the team’s future.
