“Saskatoon Trial Reveals Shocking Details in Gallagher Case”

Must read

In a trial at the Saskatoon Court of King’s Bench, the Crown disclosed that Megan Gallagher was allegedly confined and killed by a group of individuals in Roderick Sutherland’s garage. Sutherland faces charges of manslaughter, unlawful confinement, and indignity to human remains but has pleaded not guilty. The prosecution asserts that Sutherland collaborated with others, including individuals with gang affiliations, in the criminal acts leading to Gallagher’s demise.

According to the Crown, Gallagher was murdered in a Saskatoon garage, with the prosecution contending that Sutherland was not acting alone. The trial is anticipated to span two weeks, with Justice John Morrall overseeing proceedings. Gallagher, a mother who went missing over five years ago in Saskatoon, was later discovered deceased along the South Saskatchewan River.

Prosecutor Bill Burge mentioned that the names of Robert (Bobby) Thomas, Cheyann Peeteetuce, and Summer Sky Henry would be central to the trial as they were also involved in Gallagher’s death and have already pleaded guilty. The Crown plans to present evidence indicating that the group arrived at Sutherland’s residence in the early hours of September 20, 2020, seeking to interrogate Gallagher, and Sutherland allowed them to use the garage.

Allegedly, Sutherland visited the garage multiple times while Gallagher was confined and eventually found deceased. An agreed statement of facts read in court outlined the sequence of events leading to Gallagher’s demise, with details such as her interactions before being bound and killed. The trial will continue with the Crown presenting its witnesses, while Sutherland is being represented by lawyers Blaine Beaven and Alora Arnold.
