Two individuals, a young child and a 28-year-old man, tragically drowned in Wabigoon Lake in Dryden over the weekend, as reported by the Ontario Provincial Police. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. on Saturday when both individuals went into the water and failed to resurface.
Authorities, including the Dryden OPP, the OPP’s Emergency Response Team, and OPP Marine Unit, conducted a thorough search of the lake. The young boy’s body was discovered around 7:15 a.m. on Sunday following a report of a body in the water at Flat Rock Park. Later that day, at approximately 5:50 p.m., the OPP’s Underwater Search and Recovery Unit assisted in recovering the man’s body.
