Canada’s Leylah Fernandez secured a 6-1, 6-4 victory against Hungary’s Dalma Galfi on Wednesday during the second round of the Japan Open tennis tournament in Osaka. Hailing from Laval, Quebec, Fernandez recorded one ace and three double faults while successfully breaking her opponent three times out of eight opportunities.
In terms of first-serve points, Fernandez dominated by winning 78%, outperforming Galfi who managed to secure only 55%. Despite Galfi’s three aces and two double faults, she missed out on converting her single break-point opportunity.
