“WNBA All-Star Game Returns to Chicago in 2026”

Must read

The WNBA has announced that the All-Star Game will make a return to Chicago in 2026 and will take place at the United Center. Scheduled for July 25, the game will be preceded by the 3-point contest and Skills Challenge. The event is subject to the league finalizing a new collective bargaining agreement as the current one is set to expire soon, with negotiations ongoing.

WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert expressed excitement about bringing the AT&T WNBA All-Star back to Chicago, emphasizing the anticipated competitive spirit and community engagement. The league, in partnership with the Chicago Sky, aims to highlight the talents of top players, engage fans globally, and showcase the vibrant basketball culture of the city.

In 2022, Chicago previously hosted the All-Star Game at the Wintrust Arena, home to the Sky. The United Center, with its larger seating capacity compared to Wintrust Arena, will provide a grander stage for the upcoming event. Adam Fox, CEO and President of the Chicago Sky, expressed enthusiasm for hosting the 2026 WNBA All-Star game, aiming to capitalize on the league’s growth and spotlight its star players.

While the recent All-Star Game took place in Indianapolis, Indiana Fever player Caitlin Clark missed the event due to a groin injury.
