The duo announced their plans for a live-action scripted revival of the iconic show, known for its heartwarming tales of a wandering, heroic German shepherd aiding those in need in various towns.
Originally aired on CTV from 1979 to 1985, “The Littlest Hobo” left a lasting impact on Rogen and Goldberg, who described it as a fundamental part of their childhood. They expressed enthusiasm about bringing the show back to life for a new generation while maintaining its essence.
Despite the reference to the famous theme song “Maybe Tomorrow” by Canadian artist Terry Bush, the creators assured fans that the titular hobo character will remain true to its original size, emphasizing that the adventures will be grand, though not oversized like Clifford the Big Red Dog.
Details regarding production, casting, and the premiere date of the reboot will be disclosed in due course. This revival is a product of the collaboration between Rogen’s Point Grey Pictures, Goldberg, and Lionsgate, following the success of their acclaimed comedy series “The Studio,” which garnered prestigious awards.
