The Canadian singer, who hails from Stratford, Ontario, had previously won the award four times, starting back in 2010 when it was known as favorite pop/rock male artist.
Entering this year’s awards ceremony with four nominations, including artist of the year and album of the year for his album “Swag,” Bieber emerged victorious, adding to his impressive tally of 19 American Music Awards. This achievement ties him with the late Kenny Rogers for the second-most wins by a male artist, with the legendary Michael Jackson still holding the top spot with 24 awards.
In a recent concert comeback at Coachella, Justin Bieber wowed audiences with his performance, marking his return to the stage after canceling a tour in 2022 due to health issues related to Ramsay Hunt syndrome. Among the other notable winners of the night were BTS, who secured the artist of the year award, and Sabrina Carpenter, who snagged album of the year honors.
