Blue Jays standout Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is in the running for a consecutive silver slugger accolade. Major League Baseball has revealed the finalists for its annual awards recognizing the top offensive performers at each position in the league. Alongside Guerrero, Toronto’s Bo Bichette and George Springer have also been named as finalists. The winners, chosen by Major League managers and coaches excluding players from their own teams, will be unveiled on November 7.
Guerrero, who secured the AL first-base award in 2021, delivered an impressive performance, hitting .292 with 23 home runs and 93 RBIs, with only 94 strikeouts in 589 at-bats. Despite missing the final three weeks of the regular season due to a knee sprain, Bichette ranked second in the majors with 181 hits, boasting a .311 average along with 18 home runs and 94 RBIs. Meanwhile, Springer is contending for his third Silver Slugger award and his first since 2019. The 36-year-old experienced a resurgence in the 2025 season, achieving a career-best batting average of .309 while hitting 32 home runs and driving in 84 runs.
