The domestic assault charge against Ryan Albright, CEO of Covered Bridge Potato Chip Company, in the U.S. has been dismissed. The charge stemmed from an alleged incident in Bangor, Maine, on October 19, 2024.
According to a clerk at the Penobscot County Court, Albright’s case was resolved on Wednesday, though specific details were not disclosed. Following the incident, Albright opted for an extended leave of absence citing “personal health challenges,” as announced by Covered Bridge just four days later.
The company, headquartered near Hartland, New Brunswick, appointed Brook Dickinson as the executive vice president during Albright’s absence. Despite reaching out to Covered Bridge for confirmation on Albright’s current leave status, CBC News has yet to receive a response.
In response to the Maine incident, Bangor Police Sgt. Jason McAmbley mentioned that officers intervened in a “family altercation,” with minor injuries reported for the alleged victim. Albright was arrested, taken to Penobscot County Jail, and released on bail the same day.
