Must read

Canada’s Brad Jacobs continued his winning streak at the Pan Continental Curling Championships by defeating South Korea 14-6 in Virginia, Minn. Jacobs and his Calgary-based team were tied 5-5 after five ends but managed to dominate the game by scoring four points in the sixth end and another five in the eighth. Despite a strong start from South Korea’s Soo-Hyuk Kim, the Canadian team maintained their lead after the midway break.

Jacobs, along with vice-skip Marc Kennedy, second Brett Gallant, and lead Ben Hebert, displayed exceptional performance with a combined shooting accuracy of 93%, led by Kennedy at an impressive 95%. The team will face New Zealand’s Sean Becker, who has yet to secure a win, later in the day at the Iron Range Motors Event Center.

On the women’s side, Ottawa’s Rachel Homan secured a victory against Mexico’s Adriana Camarena with a score of 9-3, setting the pace early with three points in the first end. Homan, with a record of 2-1, is scheduled to play two matches on Thursday against South Korea’s Eunji Gim and China’s Rui Wang, who remains undefeated at 3-0.

The Pan Continental Curling Championships serve as a regional qualifier for the upcoming 2026 Men’s and Women’s World Championships.
