This weekend, construction work on the Preston, Rochester, and Booth Street bridges will lead to the closure of several lanes and ramps on Highway 417. The closures are scheduled to start Friday night and are anticipated to last until early Monday morning. The left lane of Highway 417 eastbound, stretching from the O-Train to Bronson Avenue, will be closed for the entire weekend. Additionally, the center lane in that section will experience nightly closures. On the westbound side, the right lane of Highway 417 will be closed from O’Connor to Bronson. Furthermore, the eastbound Parkdale on-ramp, eastbound Rochester off-ramp, and westbound Bronson off-ramps will also be affected by the closures. Kiewit Dufferin Midtown Partnership, the company tasked with replacing the bridges and noise barriers along the highway, stated in a press release that the closures are necessary to facilitate the transportation of concrete slabs, alongside excavation, asphalt paving, line painting, and drainage improvements.
