Taylor Swift has emerged as the top artist on Spotify’s inaugural list of the most streamed artists of all time, revealed on Thursday. Following closely behind is the Puerto Rican sensation, Bad Bunny. This development follows Bad Bunny’s fourth consecutive year as Spotify’s most streamed artist in 2025, overtaking Swift. The two artists have been swapping the top spot back and forth, with Swift claiming it for two years before Bad Bunny’s reign from 2020 to 2023.
Drake secures the third spot on Spotify’s list of most streamed artists, with The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish, Eminem, Kanye West, Travis Scott, BTS, Post Malone, Bruno Mars, J Balvin, Rihanna, Coldplay, Kendrick Lamar, Future, and Juice WRLD following in that order. Spotify did not disclose its data collection methodology when queried by The Associated Press.
In honor of its 20th anniversary, Spotify not only highlighted its most streamed artists globally but also compiled lists of the most streamed albums, songs, podcasts, and audiobooks. Streaming constitutes a significant portion of the music industry’s revenue, with 82% in the U.S. attributed to streaming, according to the Recording Industry Association of America.
Spotify, founded in Sweden in April 2006, reigns as the largest platform, commanding over 31% of the market share with a reported 751 million users and 290 million subscribers across 184 markets.
The most streamed albums on Spotify include Bad Bunny’s “Un Verano Sin Ti,” The Weeknd’s “Starboy,” Ed Sheeran’s “÷ (Deluxe),” Olivia Rodrigo’s “SOUR,” and others. Likewise, the most streamed songs feature tracks like The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights,” Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You,” The Neighbourhood’s “Sweater Weather,” and more.
