Israel announced on Monday that the Israeli military received another deceased hostage’s body from Gaza through the Red Cross, as per a statement from the Israeli prime minister’s office. The discovery suggests that there are still 12 hostages’ remains in Gaza, with Hamas facing challenges in locating them amidst the debris from the conflict.
The recovery and transfer of deceased hostages’ bodies in Gaza have posed difficulties for U.S. President Donald Trump’s Gaza initiative. A spokesperson for the Israeli government mentioned that Hamas is aware of the locations of the bodies. To aid in the search, Israel permitted an Egyptian technical team to collaborate with the Red Cross, employing excavators and trucks to search beyond the designated yellow line in Gaza, where Israeli forces initially withdrew under Trump’s plan.
