Five players from the Toronto Blue Jays have been selected as finalists for the Gold Glove awards for this season. The Gold Glove awards are presented annually by Major League Baseball to recognize the top defensive players in each position in both the American and National Leagues.
Ernie Clement has been nominated for two awards and was recently named as one of the final three contenders in the American League for both third base and utility positions. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Ty France, who joined the Blue Jays from the Minnesota Twins during the trade deadline, are also in the running for the Gold Glove award in the American League for first base.
In addition, second baseman Andres Gimenez and catcher Alejandro Kirk have also been named as finalists for the prestigious award. Gimenez has previously secured the AL Gold Glove for second base in the past three seasons while playing for the Cleveland Guardians. Guerrero was the recipient of the AL first-base award in 2022.
The winners of the Gold Glove awards will be revealed on November 2nd.
