Must read

British police have reported that a mass stabbing incident on a train heading to London has resulted in 10 people being hospitalized, with nine of them facing life-threatening injuries. The authorities have labeled the situation a “major incident” and are being assisted by counter-terrorism units in the investigation.

The attack occurred as the train was traveling from Doncaster to London King’s Cross towards Huntingdon, a market town near Cambridge. Emergency services, including armed police and air ambulances, swiftly responded to the incident at Huntingdon station. Two individuals were arrested at the scene, which is approximately 120 kilometers north of London.

Despite the initiation of the national code word “Plato” for a potential terror attack, the motive behind the stabbing has not been disclosed. Chief Superintendent Chris Casey emphasized the ongoing urgent inquiries to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer expressed his sympathy for those impacted by the “appalling incident,” while Paul Bristow, the mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, referred to the event as having “horrendous scenes.” London North Eastern Railway (LNER), the operator of the affected train service, advised passengers against traveling due to significant disruptions caused by the incident.
