“Love Island USA Contestant Ousted for Racial Slur”

Must read

Alannah Keyser, a 21-year-old contestant, has been ousted from the ongoing season of Love Island USA after a video resurfaced online showing her using a racial slur. This removal occurred shortly after her introduction as a bombshell during the Casa Amor episodes in the reality dating series on Peacock.

Following her arrival at the villa on June 21, a Snapchat video emerged where Keyser appeared to be singing along to a song with the N-word. The track in question seems to be from rapper Roddy Ricch’s 2019 hit, “The Box.”

In a familiar pattern for the show, narrator Iain Stirling announced her sudden departure during Thursday night’s episode, stating, “Alannah has left Casa Amor.”

After her initial appearance on Season 8, where she seemed to connect with contestant Zach Georgiou, viewers noticed a decrease in her screen time. Some Reddit users observed her minimal presence in Tuesday’s episode.

Keyser’s situation is not an isolated incident for this season or the franchise in general. Prior to the season’s debut on TV, Vasana Montgomery was removed from the cast after old clips surfaced of her using a racial slur.

In a separate case from the previous season, Yulissa Escobar was also removed due to resurfaced clips of her using racial slurs on a podcast. She later issued an apology on Instagram, acknowledging her mistake and expressing regret for her actions.

Similarly, Cierra Ortega faced removal from the show after similar clips surfaced online, prompting her to issue an apology on TikTok.

CBC News attempted to contact Keyser for comment but received no response before publication.
