In Toronto, authorities have announced the charging of an additional seven individuals for unlawfully operating drones over Rogers Centre during recent Blue Jays post-season baseball matches. Toronto police revealed that the Toronto Emergency Management and Public Order Unit employed specialized drone technology to detect and intervene in seven unauthorized drone flights over and around the baseball stadium during games held on Sunday and Monday. The individuals face a total of eight charges for contravening Canadian Aviation Regulations and breaching federally designated no-fly zones. According to the drone policy in place at Rogers Centre, the stadium falls within the no-fly zone of the nearby Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. Earlier this month, two individuals were fined for flying drones over the stadium during games. The Blue Jays will be returning home on Sunday for Game 6 against the Seattle Mariners in the American League Championship Series.
