“58-Year-Old Man Charged in Teen’s Farming Death”

Ontario Provincial Police have announced that a 58-year-old man from North Middlesex is being charged with criminal negligence causing death following a tragic farming incident near Parkhill that resulted in the death of a 15-year-old teenager at the end of last month. Responding to the emergency call at a farm on Parkhill Drive in North Middlesex around 4 p.m. on September 20, emergency crews discovered the teenager unconscious in a well on the property. The Arkona teenager was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries.

OPP Cst. Jeff Hare confirmed that the teenager was believed to be an employee of the farm and was working at the time of the accident. The North Middlesex Fire Department also played a role in the rescue operation to retrieve the individual from the well. The police did not disclose the specific cause of death in this tragic incident.

Despite efforts to obtain information from the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, and Skills Development regarding any investigations into the matter, CBC News did not receive a response at the time of publication.
