“Bo Bichette Returns: Blue Jays’ World Series Lineup Revealed”

Must read

The Toronto Blue Jays have included one of their top hitters, Bo Bichette, in their lineup for the upcoming World Series showdown against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Bichette, who had been sidelined since September 6 due to a left knee sprain, was named in the team’s 26-man roster for the best-of-seven series.

The Blue Jays revealed that Bichette will take on the role of second baseman and bat in the cleanup position in the lineup just hours before Game 1 at Rogers Centre on Friday night. Outfielders Myles Straw and Davis Schneider also secured starting positions, with Nathan Lukes, Addison Barger, and Isiah Kiner-Falefa available as bench options.

Bichette demonstrated progress in recent days by engaging in base running, defensive drills, and batting practice. In a lineup adjustment, infielder Ty France was added to the 26-man list while reliever Yariel Rodriguez and outfielder Joey Loperfido were omitted.

During a media day session on Thursday, Bichette expressed his readiness to contribute in any capacity required by the team. Despite experiencing discomfort earlier, Bichette appeared more at ease during practice, showcasing his agility in fielding and smooth swing in the batting cage.

The Blue Jays opted for a roster composition of 14 position players and 12 pitchers for the Fall Classic, deviating from the 13-13 split used in the ALCS triumph over the Mariners. Bichette, a two-time American League hits leader, delivered an impressive .311 batting average during the regular season.

Los Angeles made adjustments to their roster, including the addition of right-handers Edgardo Henriquez and Will Klein while excluding lefty Alex Vesia and righty Ben Casparius. Notably, veteran pitcher Clayton Kershaw, a three-time Cy Young winner, was included in the Dodgers’ World Series roster after being absent from earlier playoff series.

Kershaw, who previously hinted at retirement after this season, is set to feature in the World Series matchup, adding an intriguing element to the anticipated clash between the Blue Jays and the Dodgers.
